Isn't this picture great!
It was taken at a New Years Eve party my parents threw.
It must have been the early seventies.
(That is my "childhood" dog, Bourbon, looking up at my Mom!)
I would have been shipped (happily!!) to stay with my Nana.
Where I got to eat potato chips and drink Pepsi :)
Something I did not get to have at home!
And she let my Aunt Debbie and me sleep on the pull-out sofa!!
I thought that pull-out sofa was the neatest thing in the world...
********************************************
I think my Mom must have been channeling Priscilla Presley!
That hair is too cool!
And she is wearing Palazzo pants and a tunic, in purple!
With that long strand of chunky pearls,
she was rockin' that night!
My Dad is the guy on the far left...with the BIG grin!
He looks mighty proud of His Woman.
(And he wasn't tipsy, 'cause the man does not drink!)
I do believe he was channeling Elvis!
Of course my mother is always making the Best Dressed List.
And here they are..at our home
over the Christmas holiday.
Still in love after all these years!
Happy Anniversary!

How I love these ole time photos!! There is so much love shining thru! Am still working on finishing my Christmas cards-which are artfully (!) being converted to New Years cards! So your Nana should be getting hers soon! I haven't forgotten-this accident recovery is taking longer then anticipated! Hope your health is improving bit by bit!!

What a great photo with her hair and clothes. We had a babysitter who wanted to be a beautician (such an old fashioned term). I remember her fixing my hair into a beehive once when she stayed with us. What a great babysitter.
Happy Anniversary to the love birds! True love is so grand!!!
Love, love, love a glimpse of the past and mom and dad today!
I like it that in the pictures I have seen of your mom and dad they are making some kind of physical or visual connection with one another . . . a touch, eyes, hands, shoulders . . . which say . . . I embrace you . . .
The love between them is very evident . . . I see love . . .
So sweet! And we didn't get soda at home either.... and what was it with men and gold shirts in the 70's?? My dad had one just like the fellow on the right... and my mom had the same hair style only she had bleached her hair blonde!
But seriously, it's fantastic that they've been together so long.
