Our Annie is very, very sick.....Up-date on Annie

Annie with her Mama, Miss D

Up-date: 10:30 p.m.
Annie is doing a little better.
Her temp. has stayed at 99 degrees.
She will have IV fluids again tomorrow and Thursday.
Hopefully the Vet will have the
blood and fecal culture results early
in the afternoon.
Annie is resting comfortably now.
Still a little woozy from sedation earlier.
I will update tomorrow afternoon.

Thank you for all your prayers.
They mean the world to me, J
and Annie.....

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Annie was a little off kilter today,
being quite fussy with her breakfast.
She ate all of her hay and drank water as usual.
But after being turned out to play,
she wanted nothing to do with grazing
or her usual romping around the pasture.
Annie went into the run-in shed
and stood all by herself...
Something was amiss,
with sweet Annie!

Upon being brought back into the barn,
she was unusually lethargic.
Her temp was taken and it was 105!
The vet was called out.

Our wonderful Vet is running IV fluids,
and pulled samples for blood and fecal cultures.
Annie has been sedated is also being treated for
Colic just in case this is an impaction.
(The Vet does not think it is, but it's best
not to rule out anything, at this time!)
A few diagnoses have been talked about,
but right now I don't really want to go into them.
I just can't.....

The only thing we do know
is that
Annie is very, very sick....

If you are a praying person, would you please
put my girl in your prayers.
If you want to think
*Good and Healthy* thoughts for Annie,
I would appreciate that, too!

Annie will be 19 months old in a few days,
and I want to have many, many more days, and years
with this very special filly!

I will up-date later
Thank you for always loving Annie!

xo,
  misha

Ohhh, how scary Misha. There is a virus going around horses in these parts..it's some kind of a herpes virus for horses..they get real sick but usually recover...everyone is being told to keep their horses home and away from other horses. I will pray for her..hope it goes well. :D

Oh, please tell me things have turned around and it's nothing serious! Do you have Lyme out there? It's common here unfortunately... been through some of those emergencies and I know what you're going through.. praying you'll get a good outcome for Annie...

I was so sad to see that Annie has been sick. She's my favorite of all of your horses. My filly had an impaction colic a couple of years ago. Vet tubed her and we had to work to get her to drink. Took her a few days, but she came out of it. I don't recall that she had a fever though...Let us know when you get your blood/fecal tests back. I'll be praying for pretty Annie and you! When my horses are sick or hurt I can't eat or sleep, and I imagine you are the same.

Kelly said...

I hope Annie is feeling better and back to her old self soon. I know from experience that it's never good when an animal is lethargic. :( I'm praying for you guys during this difficult time. I hope the tests come back with some good news!

Oh Misha I'm so sorry to see this post! Yesterday Blogger wouldn't let me log in so I didn't read my favorite Blogs. It wasn't until I saw Andrea's post a few minutes ago that I read about Miss Annie. I hope she's doing better and the vet has figured out the problem. I'll be putting in extra prayers for Miss Annie and I'll be watching for any news from you. Hang in there Misha.
