Eight Weeks...

My, how time flies.
Eight weeks ago, you entered the world.
My, you have learned so much!
You have given in to the belief of all horses.
That, the grass is always greener on the other side!

You literally run circles around your Mom!
And sometimes you run too far.

Yesterday, Miss D became very upset with Annie.
Annie ventured down the pasture.
Miss D bellowed for her to come back.
And bellowed.
And bellowed, again.
And finally, Annie came running back to her,
as Miss D met her half way.
Miss D gave Annie a little head-butt on her side.
And little Annie, who was getting a little too big for her britches?
Well, she did not venture away from Mom the rest of the day!

You are tall enough to eat grain out of your mom's feeder.

You adore being groomed.
But, you hate to have your face and nose washed!
Doesn't every kid?
You have graduated to a larger halter.

You know that every day when you come in,
you have your feet cleaned with a hoof pick.
Standing on three legs isn't as easy as it looks!

You have learned so much in your first eight weeks.
Even how to strike a regal pose,
just like Mom!
We cannot wait to see what the next eight weeks bring.
But, I do have one favor, Annie.
Please don't grow up too fast.
My days would not be complete without your sweet baby whinny,
and your sweet baby nickers!
I hope your Holiday was full of warm nuzzles with the ones you love...
I know mine was!

I just love Annie and all the rest for that matter. I wish I was able to hear their whinnies and bellows.

You are a very lucky lady! Let me know if you want a vacation....I'll come there to take care of your babies. (A vacation for me.)

Hi Misha :) Tks so much for stopping by my Blog; and it is truly a small world in deed. I can't believe you were once in FL and are now in TN! With us, we were once in TN and are now in FL. I look forward to going back to God's Country someday :) I'm so sorry for the loss of your home during Hurricane Frances. She only scooted by us and took down one of our big trees, but I know she caused terrible damage to many. God Bless you for all that you must have endured during that time. Your Blog is gorgeous as is your property; and OMG on little Annie! Such a sweet girl :) Her and her Mom are something else. I'll be back to visit w/you again ... until then, Happy New Year to you and yours :)

How wonderful and I must have missed you officially giving Little One her name of Annie! She is so adorable and you can almost hear her personality in these beautiful pictures. Thank you so much for keeping us all updated on her progress of her new adventures each and every day.

Yes...that's the problem. They just grow up too fast. Any animal. I don't know....I love them both ways.

Misha, I have just fallen in love with Annie! Is there any way you can get her nicker on video so we could hear it? That would be such fun!

Oh, she is so adorable and her pictures are breathtaking. To see her run with such abandon.
You make me want to have a little one so badly. What an experience it must be.
Blessings to you all.

What sweet pictures! I've never been around a foal personally but it's something I would definitely love to experience some day.
